A super trail event in Gozo ended with a €1,000 collected and donated to Inspire Foundation (Malta). This came following the completion of the XTERRA GOZO TRAILS, forming part of the exclusive XTERRA Trail Marathon Series. A total of 360 participants, 100 of which of foreign nationality, came together to run or walk three different trail lengths: 50K, 21K and 11K respectively.
The XTERRA international trail running series was organised by XTERRA Malta in collaboration with Exiles S.C. and the French community in Malta through the French Embassy and H.E. Agnès von der Mühll, Ambassador of France in Malta.
The winners of the 50K trail are Mathieu Blanchard and Dzintra Grech, while Rosalie Borg and Kevin Zammit won the 21K trail and Imed Ben Mousa and Tara Abdilla won the 11k trail. The next event will be held in Comino on the 21st of September and will be a Swim, Run & Trail event.
“We are truly grateful for this €1,000 donation. A special thanks also goes out to XTERRA and Nathan Farrugia, the local representative for XTERRA, as well as the French Embassy and Exiles S.C. We are also truly grateful towards the French community in Malta as it has shown a lot of support towards Inspire Foundation in recent months. Without donations like these, and the support of the public, we would not be able to continue providing services that help people with disabilities achieve equality and inclusion,” said Inspire Foundation Malta CEO, Antonello Gauci.
