At Inspire, we believe every child deserves a learning environment where they can thrive, grow, and shine. This vision drives the LinC Programme, designed for children aged 5 to 11 who have autism or present behaviours of concern, and who have faced challenges in mainstream schools. Inspire created a dedicated educational and therapeutic setting under a school licence, offering children a safe, supportive, and personalised space to learn.

Currently, 45 children attend the LinC Programme at our Bulebel premises, where we combine an adapted school curriculum with therapeutic interventions. From socialisation and communication to cognitive development, literacy, numeracy, and independent living skills, our holistic approach ensures each child receives the support they need to flourish—not just academically, but also personally and emotionally.

The recent introduction of interactive whiteboards, generously supported by Melita, has brought a remarkable transformation to LinC classrooms. Teachers and Inclusive Education Practitioners now harness these tools to create engaging, multi-sensory, and personalised lessons tailored to each child’s needs. Research consistently highlights the benefits of interactive whiteboards for students with complex learning needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and intellectual or physical disabilities. They help sustain attention, scaffold learning, and facilitate meaningful interaction with educational content.

Thanks to Melita’s support, two of our classrooms are now equipped with these innovative boards. Lessons have come to life, capturing the children’s interest, motivating participation, and nurturing essential skills such as communication, socialisation, motor coordination, and cognitive growth. These tools are enabling our students to engage in ways that align with their individual strengths, creating an inclusive and impactful learning experience.

The following is a testimonial from Juanita Buhagiar – a Supply Teacher in the LinC Programme:
“The interactive whiteboards have become a very important asset to use during our sessions. They help make our sessions more interesting and engaging, as well as facilitate our workload.
Furthermore, these boards are also helping us save resources such as paper and ink, as we can opt for an online activity like a sorting activity or a quiz rather than printing/preparing physical materials”.

Melita Foundation’s support is giving our children the tools they need to unlock their potential, enrich their learning journeys, and gain skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

We are incredibly grateful to Melita for their generous support of the LinC Programme. Your contribution is helping children who might otherwise have no suitable place to learn, grow, and shine. Together, we are making a real difference in their lives.

Making a Difference Together
Since starting in 2020, The Melita Foundation has backed many projects run by different groups and backgrounds. From local STEM skills for school kids in the Three Cities to global stuff like planting trees, ESG awareness, teaching maritime law and conservation and ensuring our heritage is well taken care of.

Melita Foundation focuses on boosting digital skills, creativity and preserving Malta’s heritage and environment and this project is fully aligned with these guidelines, empowering the most vulnerable persons in society, persons with a disability, with technological skills.
