Artists Unite for a good cause

Auction front page15 local artists donate their art to raise funds for The Inspire Foundation

Fifteen renowned local artists have come together to help support the Inspire Foundation’s disability programs.

Every artist donated a work of art to an online auction which is aiming at raising funds so that Inspire can reach out to more children and families who need its help.

The auction features works from Franco Navarro, Mark Schembri, Carol Busuttil, Guzeppi Theuma, Joseph Agius, Henrietta Mallia and Joe L Mallia, Celia Borg Cardona, Anton Abela, Matthew Kassar, Andrew Borg, Noel Attard, Gilbert Vancell, Maria Tonna, Anna Galea, Jacqueline Agius, Jean Claude Falzon, and Neale Ciappara.

The works include a selection of landscapes, portraits, abstract pieces as well as photographic montages, illustrated collages, ceramic and mixed media.

The fundraising initiative was launched through an automated online auction site developed by Alert eBusiness who kindly sponsored the site’s development as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

Bidders can place their bids on http://auction.inspire.org.mt. All paintings have very attractive reserve pricing. The paintings will also be on exhibit at Farsonsdirect Wine Shop between the 26th October and 9th November.

“Inspire helps more than a thousand children with disabilities as well as their families, but there are many more people out there who need our help. Our disability programs help people learn better, socialize better, find employment and be more independent. They are run by specialists and experts in the field, and this is why their success rates are incredible. It is our aim to be able to reach out to more and more people who need us, but for this to be possible, we need your help because our programs are sustained mostly by fundraising activities such as this exhibition,” explained Inspire’s CEO Antonello Gauci.

The online auction will remain open until 9th November at noon.
