STAR 25 Programme
STAR 25 is a program delivered for Government by Inspire for young adults with profound neurological conditions which cause a number of complex difficulties with mobility, communication and ability to manage personal care. Some clients also have auditory and/or visual impairments.
Clients attend Inspire’s facilities at Razzett tal-Hbiberija for 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday for a period of 45 weeks in the year. They receive a range of therapies such as the more traditional physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech & language pathology & hydrotherapy; as well as the more diverse such as therapeutic horseback riding, multisensory therapy & a range of complementary therapies.
Clients also participate in a wide range of activities, both individually and as a group. These include crafts, pottery, cookery, human-animal interaction, music & movement and IT. All activities are adapted to the needs and abilities of the individual client to ensure they gain maximum benefit, and are being supported to fulfil their potential. Activities are designed to maintain and promote clients’ motor, social, communication, behavioural and cognitive skills, in a fun and relaxed environment.
