Diego Dini Cacci, is currently considered to be one of the most brilliant musicians on the circuit. He will take center stage both as soloist and conductor in this enticing programme led by The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s Marcelline Agius featuring works by Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini and Mendelssohn.Apart from two exciting works featuring the oboe as concerto soloist, the evening starts off with a rare Donizetti sinfonia which Dini Ciacci has recorded with the Orchestra of the San Carlo Opera Theatre in Naples (Sony International). The programme reaches its culmination with Felix Mendelssohn’s enigmatic ‘Scottish’ Symphony, which was dedicated to “H.M. Queen Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland”.Classical music lovers are in for a treat since the entrance fee is a nominal €10 and €5 for concessions.
